What is a Euro Cylinder?

What is Lock Snapping?

Lock snapping is a technique used by burglars to break into uPVC doors. They apply force to the cylinder, snapping it in half to expose the mechanism. A standard lock can be bypassed in under 10 seconds.

We install High Security Cylinders (e.g. Ultion) that have a "Sacrificial Cut". If attacked, only the tip snaps off, leaving the main lock secure and the door locked.

How do I know if my lock is Anti-Snap?

Look at the front of your lock (where the key goes). If it has the British Standard Kitemark and 3 Stars engraved on it, it is Anti-Snap. If it has no markings, it is likely a standard vulnerable lock.

Can you key-alike different brands?

No, the locks must be the same brand and profile (e.g., all Yale or all Ultion). We typically replace all cylinders at once to create a keyed-alike system.
